I travel a lot and have gone through so many products, but there are a few that stand out above the rest. I have narrowed down what I need for most trips, and I want to share them with you — whether they are travel gifts for you or travel gifts for your favorite traveler.

Nordace Backpack

The Nordace Siena is my favorite travel backpack and could make a great addition to your next trip. This backpack is my favorite for a few reasons. The first is that it is such a perfect shape for your under-the-seat item on any airplane (even small ones).

Power Bank

Power banks are so essential when traveling. Whether you need to get that one last photo or need to find your way back to your hotel, having power on your phone is pretty important.

When I am out for 10-14 hours each day while on vacation, my phone will not stay charged the entire time. Having a power bank can offer you some piece of mind that you will have your phone the entire time.

Patagonia Sling Bag

I love this bag from Patagonia that was given to me as a gift. The size is perfect (not too big, not too small) and it holds everything I need for walking around while on vacation.

Universal Travel Adapter

If you are traveling outside the United States, chances are you will need a power adapter. Find the one that is right for the country you are traveling to, and make sure it also has a converter.

Travelpro Suitcase

I was given this as a gift a few years ago and I love this Travelpro suitcase. It is small enough to be able to lug around all day, yet big enough to fit everything I want to bring on every vacation.

Jewelry Case

This jewelry case has a couple purposes, and is great at organizing all your jewelry. But it also keeps it from tangling, which is so important when traveling. It also lays very flat so takes up almost no room in your suitcase.

Small Makeup Bag

I highly recommend getting a good makeup bag for you and the amount of makeup you like to bring. I have been trying to bring less and less, so small makeup bags work well for me. This one is similar to the one I have been using lately.

GoPro

Most phones these days do such a great job of video, so I take most of my video on my iPhone. But I love to have this GoPro as a back-up. It takes video in a very different way than my phone and it’s so great to have two different options.

Travel Electronics Organizer

I bring a LOT of cords and other electronics when I travel, so having a good electronic organizer is so important. This one keeps all your cords organized and holds most everything I will bring when on a trip.

Phone Lanyard

Someone bought this for me for a trip, and I thought it was so silly. But it is one of the most helpful items I bring on any trip now. A phone lanyard can protect you against phone theft and really just remind you where your phone is at all times.

Yes, it may make you look like a tourist but for me, I think it’s well worth it.

Passport Wallet

I have 2 passport wallets — one that I use for my passport and one that I use for my actual wallet. I love this Travelon wallet and use it as my everyday wallet. It holds money, credit cards, and my vaccination card perfectly.

File Organizer

This may only be for you if you are as overly-organized as I am. I only brought this on one trip so far, which was two weeks and with multiple cities, flights, trains, and hotels. I like to stay organized and this helped so well. Plus it was small enough to fit in my bag or suitcase.

Packing Cubes

Packing cubes changed my life and I will never travel without them. They can not only compress your items, but can also act as organization in your suitcase. I use them as sort of “drawers” — keeping my pants, shirts, etc. separate in my suitcase. And then when I unpack, I have everything organized for me.

Travel Bottles – Toiletries

If you do not check your carry-on, I would recommend putting all your items in TSA-approved bottles. This will help you keep your toiletries packed in the appropriate-sized bottles and bags.

If you want to learn more about TSA’s 3-1-1 rule, here is my story on that.
